The City of Van has been located on the east and west trade and caravan routes carrying strategical nature. Each civilization that had dominated the significant Van City and around, had built religious, civic and military architectural buildings. These architectural buildings are in quality of titles giving important clues about economical, political, cultural and architectural levels of periods that they were built. The City of Van was dominated by Ottoman rule in mid-XVI. century. Van Architecture which were built in XVI. and XIX. Centuries were developed especially in Van Castle and The Old City of Van, having been political, economical and cultural reflections of Ottoman State. Iran's Great Seljuk architecture affected this architecture's development enormously besides local sources. Surrounded with walls from east, west and north, ancient Van City's northern part had been endowed with Van Castle's architectural buildings which had been formed on natural scaur. Architectural buildings consisted of the Castle and others in the city are built diversely and non-uniformly from the aspects of form, function and construction qualities.
