Tale is a literary genre that has extraordinary features, itsheroesexhibitsupernaturalpowers, show thestruggle of the good against the evil, and the winning of the good, and that is narrated and listened to by adults, although the addressees are mostly children. Tales, which are anonymous products of Turkish folk literature, are literary products of universal quality. These products, whose historical adventure is not knownclearly, are produced verbally and then transferred to writing. Thus, the transfer of culture and tradition is ensured by providing a link between generations. Research has been done on the fairy tale in many disciplines. Many classification types and methods are used in fairy tale studies. One of them is Max Lüthi's text-centered method of fairy tale analysis. According to this method, tales are analyzed in line with the principles of unidimensionality, superficiality, abstract form, isolation, and the world coverage, and it is analyzed whether the narrative elements in the tales include these principles. This method is quiteremarkable in terms of reaching a general conclusion about fairy tales. The elements that exist in the essence of a fairy tale and which do not change can be determined by this method. In this study, selected examples from Van fairy tales will be class ified and analyzed within the scope of Max Lüthi's analysis method.
