Although migration is considered to have begun with the history of humanity, it seems to be accelerated by the increase in globalization and by the political, economic, socio-cultural problems and developments in the world. Migration is sometimes voluntary (socioeconomic concerns), sometimes compulsory (war, political pressures, natural disasters) and is among the areas of study that are constantly updated and important as it affects many national and international fields. Today, among the most important impacts of immigration, international migration, illegal immigration and refugee problems come to the fore, and these are among the main problems of both international relations and public administration disciplines.
When taking the issue of international migration and refugee into consideration, we come to the conclusion that due to the geographical position and/or its transfer country status for international migration Turkey is forefront. This situation arose the necessity of policies in order to find a solution to the socio-cultural conflicts between the citizens and the refugees and/or immigrants with the different cultures.
In this study, the changes in Turkey's urban identity as a result of international migration, how immigration shapes the social structure of the urban life and how immigrants who come to the city influence the quality of urban life will be examined. The sudden increase in population with migration is causing difficulties in cities and adding new ones to existing urbanization problems such as degradation of the physical environment, social, economic and many other problems that reduce the quality of urban life. Within this framework, the criteria of urban living quality will be evaluated one by one to determine what immigrants are influencing at this point and how this impact changes the quality of lives of the residents of the city.
