Foucault, who had part in the post-structuralist movement in the 20th century, argues that living standards that have changed with Modernism give rise to a new understanding of functioning and power. In his studies, while he was trying to analyze information, the thinker, who determined that the real problem was power, emphasized that modern power was shaped through the architectural product named Panopticon and gained functionality through official institutions. He seeks to uncover the relationship between the forces in the lower levels of power, in order to determine the formation processes of the subject being monitored and disciplined in institutions. He determines that modern power captures the subject.
The settings where the individual is captured are seen to be functional in the works by Tezer Özlü, who were from the generation of 60s. In this study, the settings in Özlü's works were examined based on Foucauldian Discourse Analysis for the settings of power. The study has focused on the settings consisting of home, school, hospital and prison.
