The aim of this study is to reveal the importance of music in cultural studies through two approaches, focusing on the diversity of cultural music and traditional music co-existence that play a key role in ethnomusicology research. Here, local melodies are used as expressions of new sensual designs that take place over a settlement where as the multi-musical culture phenomenon represents a musical activity that depends on locationand place. Both of the seconcept sare based on a specific geography, cultural identity and in heritance whic hoccurs through belonging. In addition, the modern-traditiondialectic and the local-global relation ship have a decisive role on multilingual and traditional music. The act of coming together around a musical activity performed by communities that define / see themselves outside the dominant culture and attribute a moral value to this music are among factors that creates diversityand multi-cultural music. The qualitative study result revealed here is; In Diyarbakır, it is stated that cultural music hasled to positive diversity and synthesis in cultural music during there cent years, which is an integral part of traditional music studies.
