The approaches text-oriented and author used in thestudy of works has been loosing their influence since these cond half of the 20th century. Reader-centered reading sacquires importance among literary criticism and theories. Modern and post-modern writers creates some emptiness in their texts. Completion of such emptiness from the terms of contextual and formal lefts to the reader's power of interpretation Bilge Karasu, one of theim portant writers of modern Turkish literature is one of the writers who put the reader into the center of her works. Kısmet Büfesi reflects the reader's perspective and imagination therefore this work have an important place in reader-centered readings. This work researches what the theoretical reader model and how the author interprets the text he narrates as a reader. The theoretical reader can have a condition that interprets every possible situation in the maze of possibilities.The aim of this research constitutes to reveal that the author is under mining the role of the theoretical reader and that are constructed depending on the possibilities the stories in Kısmet Büfesi. In examined stories, it is concluded that anything which is shown and narrated by the author has the possiblity of existence or impossibility also the fragility of absolute reality in fictioned texts was cocnluded.

20.Yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren eser incelemelerinde kullanılan yazar ve metin odaklı yaklaşımlar giderek etkisini yitirir, bunun yerine okur merkezli okumalar edebiyat eleştiri ve kuramları arasında önem kazanmaya başlar. Modern ve post modern yazarlar kurguladıkları metinlerde bir takım boşluklar bırakırlar. İçeriksel ve biçimsel açıdan bırakılan bu tür boşlukların tamamlanışı okurun alılmama yetisine bırakılır. Modern Türk edebiyatının önemli yazarlarından biri olan Bilge Karasu kaleme aldığı eserleriyle okuru merkeze alır. Kısmet Büfesi; okurun bakış açısını, hayal dünyasını ve yorum gücünü öncelemesi bakımından okur merkezli okumalarda önemli bir rol oynar. Bu çalışma kuramsal okur modelinin ne olduğunu, yazarın anlattığı metni bir okur olarak nasıl yorumladığını araştırmaktadır. Kuramsal okur, olabilirlikler labirentinde her türlü olası durumu göz önünde bulundurarak metni yorumlayan bir konuma sahiptir. Kısmet Büfesi’ndeki öykülerin olasılıklara bağlı olarak kurgulandığını ve yazarın kuramsal okurun rolüne soyunduğunu ortaya koymak bu araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. İnceleme konusu olan öykülerde yazar tarafından gösterilen ve anlatılan her şeyin olabilirliği kadar olmayabilirliğinin de mümkün olduğu ve bu yüzden kurmaca düzlemdeki mutlak gerçeklik algısının kırıldığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
