There is a very short line between âşık and the poet by definition. Among the people to take the saz and say poetry is called âşık and It is often called poet who tells poetry without taking a hand saz. These people, who do not differ by their names being poets or âşık’s continue to be the voices, breathing, eyes and ears of the communities they are today as they were yesterday. Mehmet EminYurdakul says, "The people who do not shout poets / The lovers are like orphans who have become earth," put poets in the place of the people and therefore closest to the communities; they say that a life without them will be in a difficult situation due to their loneliness and their orphans in the future of societies.WithYunusEmre’s words “A word war ends, a word heads up/ A word turns a poisonous meal into honey and oil” it is clear poets’ words will end the war when necessary in the community life, how important the poets' words are in terms of showing that they have a place as important as the human being when necessary. The attributes we have expressed above for the poets and lovers remain even less when the influence of these people on the lives of the nations is taken into consideration.
